Meet Gary the gentle Greyhound with a big heart and an even bigger Love of Comfort who is based at our Old Windsor Centre. Gary is a 5 year old Greyhound who has perfected the art of being charming. Friendly, social, and always delighted to meet new people, Gary treats every walk like a chance to say hello to the world. He strolls beautifully on the lead, happy to plod along beside you, taking everything in with his calm, easy-going nature. He’s had a few offsite adventures too. He travels well, settles comfortably in the car, and has even spent time in office environments where he quickly made himself at home on a soft bed. Water isn’t really his thing, but he’s more than happy to admire it from a safe distance. Gary gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He’s not looking for a boisterous playmate, he prefers gentle companionship and would happily share his home with another calm dog who enjoys a peaceful, steady life. Gary hasn’t lived in a home before, so he’ll need patient new owners who can help him learn the basics, including housetraining and settling into a domestic routine. A private, secure garden is essential so he can sunbathe, potter about, and practise his housetraining in a safe space. He loves being around people and can become worried if left alone too soon. His new family will need to build up his alone time gradually, helping him feel safe and confident as he settles in. Gary is a gentle soul with so much love to give. With the right home, he’ll blossom into the most loyal, comforting companion.
