Meet Lady – Our Tiny Singing Husky Looking for a Foster or Forever Home. Lady is a 9 year old female Siberian Husky who is currently being cared for in kennels in Wiltshire while she waits for a foster or forever home. Unfortunately, we were unable to find a foster home for her before her transport was due, and we did not want her to lose her place. While she is safe with us, kennels are not the best place for a girl like Lady, whose greatest joy in life is simply being with people. Lady is very small for a Husky, weighing no more than around 20 kilograms, and she arrived with us a little underweight. We are currently feeding her three meals a day to help her gain strength and reach a healthy weight. What Lady lacks in size she more than makes up for in love. She is incredibly friendly and affectionate and absolutely adores humans. If she had her way, she would spend her whole day by someone’s side. Very friendly and loving with people Small for a Husky (around 20 kilograms) Currently being built up with three meals a day Walks nicely once she settles after the initial excitement Interested in birds and deer while out walking Not bothered by other dogs Not cat tested Lady can be a little excited at the start of walks and may pull briefly, but she soon calms down and walks very nicely. She is also quite the foodie — treats are best placed on the floor for her as she gets a little over-enthusiastic. Lady has a true love of music. When the team are cleaning the kennels, she often sings along to the tunes. She seems particularly fond of country and western and Beyoncé. However, she is quite the music critic — if she does not like the song, she makes her opinion known with a bark until the team change the track. Lady is a truly wonderful and beautiful girl who would make an incredible family member. It breaks our hearts to see such a loving dog spending her days in kennels when all she wants is to be with people. She lived outdoors in a yard with her brother, often left alone for long periods of time. When their barking began to irritate neighbours, poisoned meat was cruelly thrown over the fence, killing her brother. From that moment on, Lady was kept confined in an outhouse for days at a time for her own safety — but it was no life for such an intelligent and social breed. The family reached out to our volunteer in Romania and we were asked to step in. Tragically, just before leaving Romania, she was attacked by a larger dog at the shelter, suffering a severe injury to her ear that required surgery and stitches to repair. Despite everything she has endured, Lady remains gentle and resilient, and we are committed to giving her the safe and loving future she has always deserved. Freedom Angels regret we cannot consider applications for Lady from: People under 25 years old People with children under 10 years old Homes without direct access to a private and secure garden Homes where the dog will have to be left alone for more than four hours in a working day Lady is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
