Benji

Benji is a handsome, happy, and bouncy 16-month-old Dogue de Bordeaux x Labrador looking for an active, loving family to call his own. This big softie is bursting with personality and adores spending time with his favourite people. He is incredibly affectionate and just wants to be part of the family. Sadly, Benji has had a very unsettled start to life. In his first year, he was passed around between three different families, bonding with each of them before being moved on again. His last family made the heartbreaking decision to have him euthanised simply because he had grown too big — something we could not let happen. Benji deserves stability, security, and the chance to finally put down roots with a family who will love him forever. Despite his rocky start, Benji is a resilient and joyful boy. He is very intelligent, loves learning, and responds brilliantly to training. He thrives when given structure and guidance. He enjoys enrichment games, sniff and search games, and playing with his ball— it’s one of his absolute favourite activities! As a young, energetic dog, Benji needs a family who can give him regular exercise, long walks, and plenty of mental stimulation. He is best suited to an active home where he won’t be left alone for long periods and can be involved in daily life. Benji is great with people and loves meeting new friends. He would do best living with a friendly, calm female dog who can be a positive role model. He is not suitable to live with cats and will need a home with older, dog-savvy children who are confident around large, bouncy dogs. Benji’s Ideal Home would be with an active family. He enjoys long walks, playtime, and training. He would love someone experienced with large breeds who can continue his training. He would benefit from a home with a calm female dog (preferred) Benji is a very special dog with so much love and potential. After being let down so many times, he deserves a forever home where he can finally feel safe and secure.
