Prince

Prince Charming is a 3-year-old male Akita. He is currently looking for a new family to love and care for him after arriving at the shelter in November 2024 as a stray. It is puzzling why no one came forward to claim him, as he is a lovely boy with an engaging personality. Once he settles into his stride, he walks well on the lead, showing that he can be a reliable walking companion. He enjoys the company of other Akitas and appears to be comfortable walking alongside them. However, Prince can become a bit excitable when he sees smaller dogs during walks, so it is recommended that he be placed in a home with a large breed, spayed female dog, following successful introductions. His food motivation is a significant advantage in ongoing training, as it helps him learn new commands and behaviours. He already knows how to sit and give a double paw but has plenty of room for improvement and learning. At the kennels, Prince enjoys running around and is quite energetic, relishing the chance to jog alongside his human companions. He would thrive in an active household where he can partake in daily exercise and enjoy games of chase. His playful nature is evident when he showcases his Akita zoomies, and he loves to play fetch, although he may not always return the toy. As Prince is a stray, the shelter is keen to find him a suitable home, ideally without children or with older children aged 12 years and above. This ensures a peaceful environment for Prince, where he can continue to adapt and thrive in his new family.
