Goose

Goose is a 1-year-old male Cross-Breed. He is medium in size and has recently been diagnosed as deaf, which means his new home will need to be experienced and patient with his specific needs. Despite this, Goose has already shown that he has a lot of potential when given the right structure and guidance. Goose arrived in the UK kennels in January 2025 along with his siblings and his dad, Barney. He shared with one of his siblings at first, though he did have fights with his other siblings in the paddocks and in the kennel. Outside of his kennel environment, Goose has interacted with other dogs and these meetings have gone well, showing that he can build positive relationships. When walking, Goose can be reactive to other dogs and also to cars. This reactivity appears to be linked to his deafness, which can make him more easily startled and uncertain in new situations. His future family will need to work with patience and understanding to build his confidence in these moments. Goose can also be reactive towards strangers. He will need multiple introductions before he feels comfortable enough to move into a new home. Once trust is built, he has the capacity to bond well with people who respect his pace and needs. With commitment and consistency, Goose can learn to thrive in the right environment. Goose can live with other dogs, and he is also suitable to live with children aged 15 and above. He cannot live with cats. His home will need to be one where patience, training, and understanding of deaf dogs are prioritised.
